Visit to Nottingham
I had a great day on Sunday this weekend, visiting the EG East Midlands Region Regional Day at West Bridgford, in Nottingham. I was lecturing in the afternoon, about recreating historical embroidery.
It's a good venue, in a catholic school, new buildings with loads of space. They had a lot of ladies at the meeting, including several I knew. It was good to catch up with old friends and to meet lots of new ones. I took my costumes, and some of my embroidery pieces, particularly the Captain Cook Waistcoat. I also took quite a lot of my books that I use for source materials, and information on techniques and patterns.
The lecture went down very well, and so did my costumes and embroidery. They even said they would like me back in a few years to see what else I've been up to, which is a great compliment. There were a lot of stands and trade stands to see - too many for me to really look round, sadly. And some excellent cake!
Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to take any photos myself, but if anyone sends me any I'll post them here.
